A new program from SC Housing has been officially launched to provide assistance to households unable to pay rent or mortgage payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic–it’s called SC STAY.
The application period is now open for the program that may cover up to six months of rental or mortgage payments, up to $7,500, for eligible applicants.

[NOTE: This is not the US Treasury's Emergency Rental Assistance Program for landlords/tenants as passed by Congress in December. The SC House Ways and Means Committee is currently fast tracking legislation (H3770) to enact the framework for getting this program started–it will likely also be run by SC Housing–we should know more in a couple of weeks.)
