CTAR: Landlords, Tenants & Fair Housing
    Starts: 7:00 pm
    Ends: December 13, 2022 - 11:00 pm

Location: Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, 5006 Wetland Crossing Drive, Charleston, SC 29418, USA

    Description:

    (CEE3245) 4 hours of Elective (CTAR+LLR)

    Instructor: Judy Wolk

Description: This four-hour course will examine many of the issues which face agents and homeowners who are involved with rental properties. Compliance with HUD guidelines can be very tricky. Can you evict a criminal? Must you accept any animal as an assistance animal? Can you discriminate against certain groups of immigrants? We will review the status of protected classes and discuss ways to handle various sticky situations which could result in complaints and fines filed against you and/or the homeowner. Fair Housing is never a stagnant topic and its nuances continue to evolve, particularly with focus on “disparate impact”. Remember, it is not always the “intent” of what you do, it is the “effect” of your action
