South Carolina REALTORS® release November market reports

COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 15, 2016) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) today released its November housing market data indicating that in year-over-year comparisons, the number of homes for sale has been fewer in most communities. Homes are selling in fewer days and for higher prices – a trend throughout 2016.

New listings were up five percent to 7,271. Pending sales decreased almost five percent to 4,962. Inventory shrank by almost seven percent compared to last year and is down to 33,515 units.

Prices moved higher and median sales price was up a little over three percent to $180,000. Days on market has decreased 14.5 percent to 94 days. Month’s supply of inventory was down twelve percent to five months, indicating that demand increased relative to supply.
