SCAM report from Spartanburg:

Educate your clients that if they receive any text or email messages related to you or their real estate transaction, be suspicious and do not call or text or email or click on any links without talking to you or another trusted expert first.

Report was a new construction buyer received a scam text message out of the blue purportedly from their "concierge service" that was "set up by their realtor [sic]" and to call the phone number stated and/or to click the sent link.

One defense, REALTORS® can set up a "secret password" between the client and the REALTOR® that only they know to look for in a real message from the REALTOR®. Remember that crooks sometimes are already in your email inbox and reading your emails, so set up this passcode verbally (in person if able). Maybe the email will always mention someone’s dog or the color red, etc.

Use good email passwords, change passwords, use a two step verification where your email requires an authentication code from your phone.
