COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 9, 2022) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) has awarded Billie Prater, Association Executive of the Piedmont Regional Association of REALTORS® (PRAR), with its James R. Peters Association Executive Award of Excellence. The award was presented at SCR’s Awards Gala & Installation of Officers event at Junction 800 in Columbia on December 1, 2022.

The James R. Peters Association Executive Award of Excellence is named in honor of the former chief executive officer of the South Carolina REALTORS® from 1993 to 2006. The award is given annually to a local board AE or staff member who has excelled in his or her role at the association while demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and ethics.

Prior to her role at PRAR, Prater had a 20-year career in non-profit accounting. Through her diligent financial work and guidance, she helped the association work toward and attain its financial goals.

She also is credited with implementing up-to-date technology, new practices, and new committees. Her innovation during the pandemic ensured continuation of educational opportunities and she increased participation at the association’s fundraising events. Prater is described by others as a creative hard worker who is solution-focused.

“Billie Prater is passionate, diplomatic, and represents our association and industry with the utmost integrity. She is most deserving of this award,” said SCR President Cindy Creamer.
