Reports to the hotline are that the courts are pandemic backed up for weeks/months so foreclosures, evictions, and ejectments can be delayed even beyond the CDC eviction moratorium due to be lifted/extended in 2021.

Due to these reports of delays, owners needing to provide early/late/occupancy or evict/eject/foreclose may want to be recommended to obtain legal counsel asap.

SC Bar Lawyer Referral Service 800-868-2284.

There are legal pro’s and con’s to early/late/occupancy.

Higher upfront payments and deposits can help offset some of the con’s to early/late/occupancy but not all of them. Owners should discuss these issues with legal counsel ASAP.

Some people with potential criminal intent or fraudulent intent may try to take advantage. Report criminal activity suspicions to law enforcement ASAP.
